Quick Question about Annual issues

2021.09.20 08:02 dexdee69 Quick Question about Annual issues

I've been reading trades and comics online for a while now so I understand exactly what an annual issue is but what I don't understand is when they come out. I've more recently been reading single issues of ongoing series as they come out. I've been reading Tom Taylor's Nightwing and The current Flash run. I've read all six Nightwing comics released but I didn't see anything about an annual, but I only got 4 issues into Flash before I had to read his annual. And these series came out around the same time in the same month. So why was there a Flash annual but no Nightwing annual? How does the timing work?

2021.09.20 08:02 throwaway828283738 Which would be the smarter choice(and cost me less money overall)?

So I have a 2011 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 turbo with about 114k miles and I was thinking about getting thisChrysler 200 now the question you’re probably asking is “why are you confused on which one to get/keep” and to that I say I do like the car that I have now and there is nothing wrong with it I haven’t had any problems so far, BUT the Chrysler has almost 100k less miles and has things in it that I was going to mod into my sonata such as the touchscreen and backup camera, etc… My question is should I keep my sonata and just continue with the idea of modding it out with all the things that I want on it(touchscreen, backup camera, get it wrapped black, new headlights, new rims, plus more) or do I get a basically brand new car and mod that? Which would cost more? What would you personally do?

2021.09.20 08:02 DeadlyAssHollows The Instant Gratification of Anxiety, or, how I learned to stop worrying and love the bomb.

The recursive loop of anxiety is deadly in this day and age. Men love learning and nothing is more satisfying than instant information. The neurotransmitter IV drip known as the Internet provides the platform to find all. Procured information, tailored just for you, available at just a click away. It's like jigsaw puzzle nubs built to fit right in those holes in your brain. But our brains tell us to seek more and more.
It ensures our survival to know, says the evolutionary psychologist. It brings us closer to the Good, says the philosopher. For the paranoiac, the anxious, the devoutly scared, perhaps this desire has turned on them. In a rapid fire frenzy of searches, I search for what's wrong with me. Strange pains, illusive feelings, waves of hair raising worry, what could be ailing me? The brain needs to know what's wrong. There has to be a fix.
Have I always felt like this?
Is it getting worse? Is that a new feeling?
Maybe it's genetic? Oh God, I'm doomed from birth... oh predestined fate!
Tell me what's wrong, you furies of the Net! Cancers, plagues, mental maladies?
It's a social disease, you see, says doctor Freud. The pathogen of the mind, it's spread. How many of us are trapped in trying to know what's wrong? Why, it's not just health I may fear. We turn on each other. The newfangled "Fear of Missing Out". Fearing that you are left out. Jealously stealing through those you know, trying to gauge what's real. Tear through the histories of those you know. Scorned lovers. Past friends. What can I find out? What can I see? What can I see of which I can't unsee? What do I do with what I want to know, anyway?
I want to look for something that can hurt me right now. Information that I don't need to know. Information I don't want to know. But it's out there. Lurking. Existing. Awaiting dangerously curious eyes. Eyes that will peel over every pixel. Eyes that will take that information through the optic nerve, electrical signals firing off in sequences of coded information. Information that will be picked over, churned over subconsciously. The battle between the animal instincts and the mind begins.
Is it reasonable to feel fear? Isn't it absurd, to know that atoms of material build what I see, what I know, and will only be overlapping with my existence for a fraction of the time that it will exist? The time that I am "me" is fleeting. My life is mere seconds to the universe's lifetime slumber.
So, what is there to worry for? I don't know. All I know is,
I grip my temples, I gird my loins and, in due time, I always look.
